S h o r t N e w s J a n u a r y 2 6 , 2 0 2 4 Australia: Freeze on new applications for the "Business Innovation and Investment program" The Australian Government is not accepting new applications for the "Business Innovation and Investment Program", also known as the "Golden Visa" program. However, the Government will continue to process all applications submitted before July 1, 2023. The "Business Innovation and Investment Program" is currently under review by the government as it looks to introduce a new "Talent and Innovation" visa, which will include investors but is likely to have stricter rules and restrictions. Germany: Israeli citizens can stay in Germany until April 26, 2024 without applying for a residence permit Israeli citizens are exempt from the visa requirement when entering Germany for stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period for tourism and business trips. The German government has extended the visa-free stay beyond the permitted 90 days within 180 days until April 26, 2024. Under this exemption rules, they can continue to pursue business activities in Germany, but are not allowed to work without a work permit. Saudi Arabia: Five new categories have been introduced for the "Premium Residency Permit" (PRP) program Saudi Arabia has introduced five new categories under its long-term "Premium Residency Permit" (PRP) program, which offers self-funded long-term residency to a larger number of foreign nationals. Foreign nationals can apply under one of the following categories: Highly talented individuals (including executives, healthcare professionals and academics), culturally, artistically and athletically talented individuals, investors, entrepreneurs or real estate owners or investors. The expansion of the PRP - which is likely to increase the number of highly skilled individuals, entrepreneurs and investors staying in Saudi Arabia long-term - continues the country's current trend of attracting and retaining foreign investment and talent. 3 convinus.com
