NEWS UPDATE DECEMBER 19,2024Slovakia: Legislation related to digitization approvedSlowakei: Gesetzgebung zur Digitalisierung verabschiedetThe Slovakian government has adopted legislativeamendments in connection with the use of electronicservices for foreign nationals in various contexts.The important points:The new law entered into force on 15 December 2024and eligible foreign nationals will now be able to usea digital platform for the following immigrationservices:Renewal of temporary residenceRenewal of the Blue CardRegistration of residence for EU citizensApplication for residence permits and foreignerpassportsAdditional information:The government has also updated the procedure forapplications with verified invitations. A simpleconfirmation of bank balance is now accepted, asopposed to the previous requirement for a bankstatement.Summary:The government is making changes to the law toenable faster and simpler communication.
