GET TO KNOW THE PEOPLE BEHIND OUR GLOBAL NETWORK Guest: Guy Abbiss Partner Host: Friederike V. Ruch CEO Hi Guy, great to get to introduce you to our global network. What are the biggest challenges you are facing in your daily business? The battle for talent has always been the greatest challenge for us. As a professional services firm, we thrive on the ability of our people. We have adopted novel approaches to flexible working and global mobility as well as investing in state-of-the-art technology to ensure that we attract and retain the very best talent that our marketplace has to offer to our clients. How has the pandemic affected your business? From an employment perspective, it was the first time that the operational advantages of digital technology were available to benefit employees and the wider workforce and not just employers. It has changed, for good, the way we work as a business and our infrastructural posture. From a professional perspective, it has made the multi-disciplinary complexities of global mobility relevant to many more businesses as their people cross borders to work remotely. Are there any big projects for your customers (maybe new tools, app, etc.) where you can give us a sneak preview? We are very excited to be building a hub of Global Mobility and cross-board expert resources with our CELIA Alliance global colleagues. Most recently, we have developed International Remote Working Country Guides to examine the major legal and tax compliance risks of International Remote Working in each of: Canada, China & Hong Kong, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the USA. Other countries will follow.
