This is often done to ensure flexibility, cost advantages orspecialist knowledge that is not available internally or that cannot be provided bythe company's own personnel for a variety of reasons. Time constraints and legalchallenges are often cited as the most common obstacles to deploying in-housepersonnel in the form of secondments.When we talk about external personnel, we usually mean self-employed serviceproviders or companies that "lend" their employees to another company. As a rule,work or service contracts are concluded for this purpose, or contracts with serviceproviders (agencies, temporary employment agencies, employers of record, etc.) forthe deployment of external personnel.Today, companies face even more challenges than in the past, including in the areaof human resources, with the buzzwords "skills shortage" and "bureaucratic andlegal hurdles in cross-border areas" coming up time and again.A) Reasons for employing external personnel1.
